WAMC to air Pearl Harbor broadcasts

ALBANY — WAMC Northeast Public Radio will air “As it was: Day of Infamy: Pearl Harbor Over the Radio” at 11 a.m. today.

WAMC’s Dr. Alan Chartock and SUNY Albany Professor Dr. Ivan Steen will guide listeners through several selections of radio broadcasts that announced the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor on Dec. 7, 1941.

“Dr. Steen has provided us with the amazing sounds of Pearl Harbor as the news of the Japanese attack was broadcast over the radio,” Chartock, WAMC’s president and CEO, said in a press release. “You will be frozen in place wherever you may be

listening.”

Veterans to benefit from mail-carrier food drive

PLATTSBURGH — The letter carriers of Plattsburgh will hold a food drive for the veterans of Clinton County on Saturday. 

To participate, leave canned or dry goods in or near your mailbox.
