Pole barn burns in Wilmington

WILMINGTON — A pole barn at 485 Hardy Road was destroyed by fire Monday morning.

A Honda Element was also lost in the blaze.

The barn was owned by Nancy LaBlanc and J. Scott Avery, and they do have insurance on it, according to Essex County Emergency Services Director Don Jaquish.

Wilmington Volunteer Fire Department, called out at about 6 a.m., was assisted by mutual aid from departments in Jay, Upper Jay and Lake Placid,

The cause, Jaquish said, was accidental but was under investigation.
