As well, the Village will also pick up loose brush. Only brush that is 3 inches or less in diameter and 5 or less feet long will be accepted. And only one pickup-truck load per property will be allowed.

All bags of debris and brush piles should be put by the curbside by 7 a.m. on each scheduled day.

Town of Jay Cleanup set for May 18

JAY — The annual Town Of Jay Cleanup Day will be from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 18.

All residents must bring items to the collection site at the Town of Jay Highway Department on Valley Road in Jay.

Allowed items are: clothing, furniture, televisions, empty paint cans, vacuum cleaners, carpeting, copper, cast iron, steel, aluminum, old computers, stereo systems, radios, bikes, lawn mowers, light fixtures, lamps, tires (only two per family), refrigerators, freezers and air conditioners.

Not allowed include: construction or demolition debris, hazardous materials, fencing, propane tanks, household garbage and returnable containers.

Proof of residency may be required upon request. This is a free service to Town of Jay residents. All children must remain in the vehicle when dropping off items.

The event is for residents only, officials said, not businesses.
