Chazy Town Council calls special meeting

CHAZY — The Chazy Town Council will hold a special meeting at 5 p.m. today to discuss town insurance.

The meeting is open to the public.

Peru Central School Board sets special session for tonight

PERU — Peru Central School Board will hold a special meeting at 6 tonight in the Secondary School community room.

The board is expected to immediately enter executive session for the purpose of discussing employment history of particular personnel and/or counsel from the school attorney.

No other School Board or district business is slated for Tuesday evening.

All board meetings are open to the public.

Moriah plans water shutoff on Wednesday

MORIAH — The Town Moriah Water Department will shut off the water in Water District  No. 1 from 8 a.m. to about noon Wednesday to make repairs. 

The water will be off from Champlain Drive in Grover Hills down through all of Moriah Center and all of Moriah to the top of Port Henry Hill.

It is recommended that users shut off their main valves coming into the home to prevent the possibility of siphoning water from a boiler or hot-water heater. 

If you do not have a main valve or are unsure of its location, you can contact the Water Department at 942-3340.

Area students to be lauded for academics

PLATTSBURGH — A celebration of academic achievement of the top scholars of the region’s public school districts in Clinton County is slated for 6 p.m. Thursday, May 2, at the Rainbow Wedding and Banquet Hall.

About 90 top scholars will receive formal recognition of their academic accomplishments, with their parents, high-school principals, school-board members and school superintendents offering their congratulations at the event.

This will be the 14th-annual recognition event, which is made possible through donations from numerous businesses and organizations.
