Kenneth Lagree III of Plattsburgh has successfully completed the 27-week cadet training course at the California Highway Patrol Academy in West Sacramento, Calif., and is assigned to the Ventura area office. Lagree graduated in 2003 from Northern Adirondack Central School in Ellenburg and attended the University of Phoenix in Sacramento, where he studied criminal-justice management. He served nine years with the U.S. Marine Crops, attaining the rank of staff sergeant. Before joining, the California Highway Patrol, he was an executive assistant with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
Jeremie G. Latremore of Chazy, a graduate of Siena College, has joined the Ten Eyck Group in Albany, an insurance agency.
Alyssa Malone of Plattsburgh has been accepted into the Peace Corps and has departed for Guatemala to begin training as a health volunteer. She will live and work in a community to create programs that will educate and work to improve the health of children in rural communities. She is the daughter of Daniel and Josephine Malone and a graduate of Plattsburgh High School. She attended St. Michael’s College in Colchester, Vt., where she earned degrees in political science and Spanish in 2012. During the first three months of her service, Malone will live with a host family in Guatemala to become fully immersed in the country’s language and culture. After acquiring the language and cultural skills necessary to assist her community, she will be sworn in to service and be assigned to a community, where she will work and live for two years.
Roby Politi has accepted the honor of being named Creative Healing Connections “Mad Hatter” for this year. Politi is a cancer survivor and North Elba supervisor. The Mad Hatter’s Ball is an annual celebration to raise money for scholarships to arts and healing retreats offered by the group. Creative Healing Connections is a not-for0profit agency serving women with cancer and chronic illness, caregivers, veterans and military families.
Stephens Mundy, president and chief executive officer at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh, has been elected to the board of the Healthcare Association of New York and will serve as treasurer.
Paul Grasso of Plattsburgh, president and CEO of The Development Corporation, has been named to the North Country Regional Economic Development Council.
Katarina Lee Emerick of Mooers is a junior member of the American Angus Association, headquartered in St. Joseph, Mo. Junior members of the association are eligible to register cattle in the American Angus Association, participate in programs conducted by the National Junior Angus Association and take part in association-sponsored shows and other national and regional events.
The American Angus Association has more than 25,000 adult and junior members.
