Clinton County in need of foster and adoptive parents
PLATTSBURGH — An orientation and informational meeting for prospective foster, adoptive and respite parents will be held 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 17, at the Clinton County Department of Social Services, 13 Durkee St., Plattsburgh.
There continues to be a need for foster parents in Clinton County. More and more adolescents, children and their families are in need of support. All are welcome to attend the meeting; there is no commitment.
Clinton County Department of Social Services Model Approach to Partnership in Parenting training for prospective foster, adoptive and respite parents is scheduled to start Tuesday, Sept. 24.

PSU Council sets September meeting
PLATTSBURGH — The SUNY Plattsburgh College Council will hold its first fall meeting at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 17, in the Alumni Conference Room, Angell College Center.
In addition to the standard committee reports and a report from President John Ettling, John Homburger, vice president for business affairs, will give the council a report on the impact of the 2013-2014 state budget and bring members up to date on campus construction projects.
College Council meetings are open to the public. The next session will be held Monday, Nov. 4, at the same location at a time to be announced.
Dannemora town budget to be presented
DANNEMORA — The Dannemora Town Council will hold a special meeting at 5:45 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 25, in the Dannemora Town Hall.
The town clerk will present the tentative budget to the Town Council at that time.
This meeting will be immediately followed by the regular monthly meeting.
All Town Council meetings are open to the public.
College to host banned-book event
PLATTSBURGH — SUNY Plattsburgh’s Feinberg Library will host the second-annual Banned Books Read Out from 2 to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 25, in the Feinberg Library lobby.
