Clinton Co. town races show light card for Primary Day

PLATTSBURGH — Town races in Clinton County will be relatively light on Primary Day.

There are no head-to-head races, and three races have no candidates listed at all.

Primaries will be held in Beekmantown for a Town Council seat and the town clerk position; Dannemora and Mooers for highway superintendent; Peru for town supervisor, two council seats and town clerk/tax collector; and in Saranac for highway superintendent and two council seats.

The Beekmantown Council race will be for the Conservative and Independence Party lines.

Sherman Dubrey is the only listed candidate for both parties, but voters can write in a candidate if they choose.

The Mooers highway superintendent primary is for the Conservative Party line.

There are no listed candidates, making it a write-in-only race.

The Peru races will be for both the Conservative and Independence Party lines.

Peter Glushko is the only candidate listed on the Conservative ballot for supervisor; Donald McBrayer is the only listed candidate on the Town Council ballot, as a Conservative and Independence Party candidate; and Kathleen Flynn is the only candidate in both party races for the town clerk/tax collector race.

In Saranac, there are no listed candidates for the Independence and Conservative Party supervisor’s race, and there are none for the Conservative Party council races.

When there are no listed candidates, voters can write in anyone they want.
