The restaurant will occupy 2,200 square feet in the building now under construction at the plaza, which will also house a Buffalo Wild Wings.

DOZENS OF JOBS

Winslow said the typical Chipotle location has seating for between 50 and 75 people and about 30 full- and part-time employees.

Town Supervisor Bernie Bassett said he is excited to hear the company finally confirm it is coming to Plattsburgh.

“They certainly have their niche, and I think they will be well received,” he said.

FOOD QUALITY TOUTED

Chipotle offers burritos, burrito bowls, soft and crunchy tacos, salads and chips and guacamole.

The restaurants feature an open kitchen, with customers able to choose their ingredients as the move down the line.

The company website says Chipotle prides itself on producing “food with integrity.” The company tries to use 100 percent naturally raised pork, chicken and beef in its dishes, it says, and will post a notice in the restaurant when it is temporarily unable to do so.

EXPANDING

CEO Steve Ells opened the first Chipotle in Denver in 1993. The chain now has more than 1,500 locations, which includes 44 that opened in the quarter that ended June 30.

The company reported $2.73 billion in revenue in 2013.

The nearest Chipotle is on Shelburne Road in South Burlington.

WILD WINGS HIRING

Buffalo Wild Wings will occupy 5,800 square feet in the 10,500-square-foot building.

The franchise owners are Martti Matheson and Aaron Miller, who also own franchises in Burlington, Concord, N.H.; Waterbury, Conn.; and Southington, Conn.

Matheson said they plan to open in late November or early December.

“We’re in the process of hiring managers,” he said.
