Morrisonville Fire District changes meeting place

MORRISONVILLE — The location has changed for the Morrisonville Fire District meeting set for 6 tonight.

The session takes place at the Jubilee Hall of St. Alexander’s Church on Church Street in Morrisonville.

The purpose is to discuss the budgetary needs of the district for 2014.

The meeting is open to the public.


Fire hydrants being flushed in Port Kent

PORT KENT — During September, the Town of Chesterfield will be flushing fire hydrants and testing the flow in the Port Kent Water District.

Residents may experience low water pressure or slight discoloration for a short time during this process.


Forum set on Lake Placid/North Elba Comprehensive Plan

LAKE PLACID — The Lake Placid/North Elba Community Development Board will hold a public-information meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11, at the Lake Placid Conference Center in the North Elba Room. 

The purpose of the interactive forum is to obtain public comment regarding the proposed Comprehensive Plan for the Town of North Elba and Village of Lake Placid. 

Attendees are encouraged to review the document and bring their questions and comments to the meeting. The plan is available at under the “Resources” section.
