LAKE PLACID — Adirondack Health invites area businesspeople to the Essex County Business Council Business After Hours on Oct. 11 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Crowne Plaza Great Room, Lake Placid.

This is an opportunity to meet Adirondack Health’s new 2012 medical providers. Enjoy complimentary hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar while getting together with old friends and networking with new business contacts. Admission is $2 with a reservation and $3 without.

Business After Hours is open to members of the Essex County Business Council, the North Country Chamber of Commerce and partner chambers. The council is a division of the North Country Chamber. Anyone not yet a member of the ECBC or any partner members may call for a guest pass.

Health workshops

MORRISONVILLE — A free, six session workshop called Living Healthy is being offered by Eastern Adirondack Health Care Network and Northern Adirondack Medical Home.

The sessions are designed to help people with  ongoing health conditions such as diabetes, arthritis, heart disease or asthma. Participants will learn self-management skills and set goals to improve their health and life.

They will be held from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Tuesdays, Oct. 2 to Nov. 6. Registration is available through Oct. 8. Sessions one or two must be attended to complete weeks three to six.
