Homebuyer workshop

PLATTSBURGH — UFirst Federal Credit Union is hosting a free Homebuyers Workshop on Thursday, Oct. 25, at The Comfort Inn & Suites at 411 Route 3, Plattsburgh. Guest speakers are Dave Stagnitti, an NMLS licensed mortgage loan officer; and attorney Gary L. Favro of the Law Offices of Gary L. Favro PLLC. Registration is from 5:30 to 6 p.m. and workshop is from 6 to 8 p.m.

Anyone getting ready to buy a first home or who wants to learn more about refinancing will benefit from this workshop. Space is limited so early sign-up is encouraged.

Open house

WEST CHAZY — An Earthwood Open House, part of the National Tour of Green Homes, will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Earthwood Building School, 366 Murtagh Hill Road (off Military Turnpike), West Chazy.

This one-day-only event features free, one-hour tours include cordwood masonry, earth-sheltered housing, solar power, the masonry stove, a bicycle-powered water system, a straw bale and cob building, an astronomically-attuned megalithic stone circle and more.

Series returns
