July Fourth celebrations scheduled around area

People reflect on America, ready to celebrate holiday


After the parade, Eagle Country 97.5 will be hosting tryouts for Mayor’s Cup Idol on the trailer stage in Trinity Park. (Semi-finals will be held during the 36th-annual Mayor’s Cup events July 12, and the finals will be July 13.)

At 7 p.m., the Bootleg Band will perform, presented by Garvey Hyundai. Fireworks at 9:30 p.m., sponsored by Warren Tire and Champlain Valley Transportation Museum.


Saranac Lake July Fourth celebration. Kiddie Parade “Saranac Lake Safari” at 10 a.m., starts at St. Bernard’s School parking lot, followed by an old-fashioned picnic in Riverside Park, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. with live bands, old-time music, food, fun and games.

Saranac Lake Mayor’s Cup Paddle Race starts at Riverside Park at 10:30 a.m.

Fireworks display begins at dark, Lake Flower boat launch.


Schroon Lake Celebration. Chicken barbecue at the Schroon Lake Community Church, beginning at 11 a.m. until sold out.

Adirondack artists and crafters at Town Hall parking area, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., kids activities, food booths and more.

Parade begins at 6 p.m. followed by a concert at the town beach featuring actors with Seagle Colony, and ending with fireworks over the lake at 9:30 p.m.


St. Regis Falls Volunteer Fire Department’s annual Field Day. Parade at 11 a.m. Assemblywoman Janet Duprey is this year’s grand marshal. Belly Buttons the Clown, pony rides, double slide, food bingo, barbecue chicken and hot sausage. Music, clogging, many vendors, cotton candy, fireworks and more.


Best Fourth in the North. 10:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Bicentennial Park, Ticonderoga. Food, vendors, carnival rides.

At 1:45 p.m., annual Montcalm Mile run will take place on Montcalm Street, sponsored by LaChute Road Runners.

At 2 p.m. parade sets off from Montcalm Street/downtown, with grand marshals Howard and Susan Rathbun.

At Bicentennial Park, 3:30 and 5:30 p.m., Buffalo Barfield & Unherd-of-Entertainment Live, traditional country, Americana, rhythm & blues and bluegrass music; 7:30 to 9:30 p.m., Joe McGinness and Longshot Live, country, rock and original music.

Fireworks blast off at about 9:30 p.m. at Bicentennial Park.
