Road construction roundup: Dec. 4, 2012

PLATTSBURGH — Road construction is still under way in some areas of Clinton and Essex counties.

Crews ask that motorists use caution when driving through work zones. Fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone.

Here is a look at some of the major work occurring this week:

CLINTON COUNTY

Route 11, Ellenburg: Crews will continue highway rehabilitation between the intersection of routes 11 and 190 and the Mooers/Altona line. Traffic will be controlled by signs and flaggers as necessary.

Interstate 87, Exits 38 and 39: Crews are performing bridge construction between Exits 38A and 39.

Route 22, Plattsburgh: There may be daily lane closures in the vicinity of Interstate 87.

ESSEX COUNTY

Route 9, Chesterfield: Traffic will flow in a single lane in alternating directions and will be controlled by a temporary traffic signal at the Chesterfield/Lewis line.

Route 86, Wilmington: Traffic will flow in a single lane in alternating directions at the Wilmington/Jay line to Route 431. Crews are working on the bridge over the Ausable River one-half mile north of Fox Farm Road.

O’Connell Road, Keene: Crews are performing road construction. Traffic will be controlled by flaggers as necessary.

Otis Road, Elizabethtown: Crews are reconstructing the bridge. Traffic will be controlled by flaggers as necessary.
