Until then, this is the policy: “The Board of Education encourages public participation on school-related matters at the board meetings. To allow for public participation, a period not to exceed 30 minutes has been set aside at the end of the board meetings. As a general rule, public participation will be limited to 5 minutes total per speaker. Anyone who wants to speak should state their name and sign the sheet.”

Items for troops in Afghanistan sought

PORT HENRY — A collection box has been set up at the Moriah Town Hall for those who would like to send items to U.S. troops in Afghanistan.

Suggested items include cards, letters, candy, cheese, crackers, pepperoni, boxed soups, trail mix and peanut butter. 

A group of concerned citizens in Moriah and Port Henry is behind the effort; the box will be at the Town Hall through Christmas.
