Students: May 28, 2014

The following students have been named to the Dean's List at Binghamton University: Stephanie Omlin of Schuyler Falls, Eric Phillips of Plattsburgh, Maxine Rock of Saranac, Weixi Pan of Plattsburgh, Regan Kieffer of Saranac Lake and Reid Olsen of Plattsburgh.

 

Local students who received degrees from Herkimer County Community College include Michael S. Burns of Dannemora, criminal justice/cyberspace; Jody Leigh Chubb of Akwesasne, business/sports and recreation management; Nicole Marie Dickson of West Chazy, criminal justice/forensic investigations; Tammie Beth Frederick of Ticonderoga, human services; and Sandra Lynn Martin of Brushton, physical therapist assistant.

 

Marion James of Willsboro graduated from Colby-Sawyer College, New London, N.H., with a Bachelor of Arts degree, with a major in history and political studies.

 

Daniel R. Hockersmith of Plattsburgh was among the 523 students who graduated at Lebanon Valley College in Annville, Pa. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry in ACS chemistry.

 

The following area residents have been named to the spring Dean's List at Champlain College, Burlington, Vt.: Zachary Allott of Elizabethtown, Maryjean Shuknecht of Keeseville, Ryan Odell of Keene Valley, Zoe Tyler of Saranac Lake, Diane Couture of Saranac and Matthew Leta of Peru.

 

Area students who received degrees at SUNY Institute of Technology include Rebecca Boon of Bloomingdale, Gregory Sieverding of Peru, Matthew Seymour of Peru, Darren Sponable of Plattsburgh and Anthony Barnao of Ticonderoga. 

 

Kathryn Dickie of Cadyville has been inducted into Sigma Tau Delta at Niagara University, the international English Honor Society, conferring distinction for students with high achievement in English language and literature studies. 

 

Kayla J. Hebert of Keene Valley was presented with the Class of 1934 Scholarship in History at St. Lawrence University, Canton. The award is based primarily on academic achievement and attitude toward learning with evidence of interest in becoming a broadly well-educated person as well as excelling in the major academic discipline.
