Boat inspection event canceled

PLATTSBURGH — The free boat inspections and demonstrations set for Saturday in City of Plattsburgh parking lot near the boat launch have been canceled due to the rainy forecast.

Flotilla 15-8 U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary had scheduled the event as part of National Safe Boating Week.

A similar event will be scheduled in the future as weather permits, said Don Craig, public affairs officer for the flotilla.

“In the meantime, anybody wanting a free inspection of their boat may call Ted Alwine, vessel examiner, at 562-7897,” he said. “One of our vessel examiners will make arrangements to visit the boat.”
