Paul Smith’s College to host Envirothon

PAUL SMITHS — The North Adirondack Regional Envirothon will be held today at Paul Smith’s College.

Teams from local schools will compete for a chance to represent their county at the New York State Envirothon at SUNY Morrisville College.

The Envirothon involves teams of five students from each school who pit their knowledge against one another on the subjects of forestry, soils, aquatics, wildlife and local food.

The program is put together by the local Soil and Water Conservation Districts from Clinton, Essex, Franklin and St. Lawrence counties.

The regional program is sponsored by the Paul Smith’s College with financial support from local organizations and businesses.

Plattsburgh Common Council to meet today

PLATTSBURGH — The City of Plattsburgh Common Council will meet at 5:30 today at City Hall.

Agenda items include action on a resolution to augment existing snow-removal and parking regulations and reappointment of Shirley O’Connell as commissioner of the Plattsburgh Housing Authority Board of Directors.

The public is welcome.
