PLATTSBURGH — The Clinton County Christmas Bureau is accepting applications from low-income families for help at Christmas.
Eligibility for help is income based.
For assistance with Christmas dinner and gifts and toys for children 16 and younger, applicants must apply before Dec. 6 at the JCEO Outreach Center in the town where they reside. In the towns of Beekmantown, Mooers and Schuyler Falls, where there are no outreach centers, families can apply at the town office.
Applicants in the City of Plattsburgh who received help from the Christmas Bureau last year should call 420-2600.
All others living in the city who are applying for the first time should visit the Christmas Bureau Center in person, located at 625 Route 3, Suite 200. Heading out of Plattsburgh westward on Route 3, watch for the sign two buildings beyond Pray’s Market.
The household must have children ages 16 and younger, and applicants must provide proper identification, proof of income, Social Security cards for everyone in the household and custodial and child-support documents.
The Christmas Bureau is a non-government, community-donor-funded, all-volunteer organization whose sole mission is to provide Christmas for low-income families throughout Clinton County. It is a nonprofit 501C-3 organization.
