Chazy plans emergency line flushing

CHAZY — Water lines will be flushed in the hamlet of Chazy this morning.

The water has been cloudy, and the town, in consultation with the Clinton County Health Department, will flush the lines to try to clear them. That will start between 6 and 8 a.m. today.

Residents in the hamlet may experience cloudy water or low water pressure.

Fresh produce sought for needy

PLATTSBURGH — Plant a Row for the Hungry is accepting”’market quality” garden produce to distribute to area food shelves.

The organization asks that ripe — not overripe — produce be donated; that items, if appropriate, are washed and bagged for a family of four; and that shallow boxes be used for larger fruits or vegetables.

Here is the dropoff schedule for sites in Plattsburgh: Interfaith Food Shelf, United Methodist Church, 127 Beekman St., 9 a.m. to noon Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday; JCEO Food Pantry, 39 Durkee St., 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday; Salvation Army Soup Kitchen, 4804 South Catherine St.m 9 to 11 a.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday; Clinton County Senior Center, 5139 North Catherine St., 9 to 11 a.m. Thursdays; St. Joseph’s Church, 1349 Military Turnpike, 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesdays; and St. Peter’s Church Soup Kitchen, 23 St. Charles St., behind Seton Academy, 2 to 3 p.m. Mondays.
