Man sought by police now charged in robbery

The burglary was reported to police in February 2011, and two other men in their early 20s were also arrested in connection with that crime.

In April 2012, Bresette was sentenced to six months in jail and five years probation after he pleaded guilty to third-degree burglary, a felony.

Then in October 2012, Bresette was arrested in connection with a January 2012 burglary on Highlands Road in the Town of Chesterfield.

He was charged with third-degree burglary. Police said an assortment of scrap metal and scrap-type items were stolen from a barn, and a parts truck was taken from outside the residence.

Then in November 2012, Plattsburgh-based State Police told the Press-Republican that Bresette and a Peru man had burglarized a bar in Chesterfield several times between June 2011 and January 2012.

The two men stole washing machines, old radiators, bed frames, scaffolding, mowers, miscellaneous tools and other materials, police said.

Bresette was scheduled to appear back in Plattsburgh Town Court Thursday evening on the robbery charge.

The investigation is ongoing, said Troop B Bureau of Criminal Investigation Lt. Brent Davison.
