Your Town: Chazy Council seat to await election

Vehicle use: The council voted unanimously to allow the town maintenance person, David Loope, to drive the town maintenance vehicle home. Loope is responsible for keeping all pump stations operational at the town water-treatment facility and is on call at all times of the day and night.

But, the resolution said, “he will only be able to use (the) town vehicle for town business and no personal business of any kind.”

Recognition: Town officials also presented certificates of recognition to members of the Recreation Committee for developing a new playground at Chazy Recreation Park.

Certificates applauded the work of Che and Bill Vesneske, Alan Roberts, Gary Amell, Tessa Parent, Jim Lucas, Darren Pilon, Chris Latremore and Jen Langlois.

Spiegel presented a plaque to retired Highway Department employee Daniel Wells, honoring his 31 years of service.
