Clinton County Fair fun starts today

MORRISONVILLE — The 67th-annual Clinton County Fair kicks off today, with half-price admission, fireworks and all kinds of entertainment, including a qualifying round of North Country’s Got Talent.

Carnival rides are free from noon to 1 p.m.

Pay $4 per person to get onto the Clinton County Fairgrounds, with children ages 3 and younger free.

Fairgoers are asked to bring in nonperishable items for donation to local food shelves.

Visit the FFA, cattle, horse and domestic and fine-arts exhibits daily; vendor buildings are open 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. every day of the fair, which continues through Sunday.

Parking is free.

Here’s the schedule for today:

TODAY

9 a.m.: 4-H mini class in the PrimeLink Horse Arena.

10 a.m.: 4-H dog show, North Country Squares Building.

Noon: Carnival rides open (first hour free).

Noon to 9 p.m.: 4-H Dairy Bar open.

Noon to 3 p.m.: Bootleg Band in the Stewart’s Shop Gazebo.

Noon, 2, 4, 6 and 8 p.m.: Sue Wee Flying Pigs, sponsored by National Bath Systems LLC and North Country Auto Glass & Trim Shop.

1 p.m.: 4-H driving classes in the PrimeLink Horse Arena (or one hour after last mini class).

1, 4 and 7:30 p.m.: Mark Tyoe, chainsaw sculptor, sponsored by Tammy Perrotte Sears of RE/MAX North Country.

1:30, 3:30 and 6:30 p.m.: Kid Bucks Game Show, sponsored by Bluegreen Vacations Unlimited LLC and Upstate NY Toyota Dealer.

2, 4 and 7 p.m.: Pipsqueaks Party Time Clown Show, sponsored by Price Chopper at the Children’s Stage.

3 p.m.: 4-H goat show in the goat barn.

3:30 p.m.: Master hypnotist Michael Blaine, sponsored by Palmer Veterinary Clinic, at the Sample Lumber Co. LLC Center Court Stage.

4 p.m.: 4-H dressage in the PrimeLink Horse Arena.

6 p.m.: Opening Ceremonies with Summer and Brooke Gillespie singing national anthem at the Stewart’s Shop Gazebo, sponsored by LaBarge Agency.
