State Route 186 paving underway

LAKE CLEAR — The State Department of Transportation has begun paving a portion of State Route 186 in the area of Lake Clear.

Paving operations can be expected between the intersection of routes 186 and 86 and routes 186 and 30. 

Weather permitting, the project is expected to be complete by Wednesday, July 16.

Traffic will be controlled with flaggers, and pilot vehicles and motorists should expect minor delays during this project. 

“Please drive carefully through this, and every, work zone,” DOT said in a press release.

CCC Board of Trustees session set for Tuesday

PLATTSBURGH — The Clinton Community College Board of Trustees will meet at 5 p.m. Tuesday, July 15, in the board room on the second floor of the Moore Academic and Administrative Building on the main campus.

Agenda items include: a resolution to amend the tuition and fee schedule for 2014-15 and reports from the Negotiation Committee, Student Affairs and Interim President Fred Smith.

The meeting is open to the public.

PSU Council to hold session during annual retreat

PLATTSBURGH — The SUNY Plattsburgh College Council will conduct its next meeting as part of an annual retreat Friday, July 18, in the Valcour Educational Conference Center, 3712 State Route 9 in Peru.

Open to the public, it will begin at 2:30 p.m.

The council will consider the following commendations: Dr. Wendy Gordon, Dr. Rebecca Kasper, Colleen Lemza, Dr. Delbert Hart and Debra Thomas on receiving the Chancellor’s Award for Excellence, and recently retired employees for their service to the college.

The council will consider adoption of the proposed changes to the Vehicle and Pedestrian Traffic/Parking Regulations, and there will also be a discussion of campus governance with representatives from the Faculty Senate and the unions.

The next meeting of the College Council will be held Monday, Sept. 29, in the Alumni Conference Room, Angell College Center.
