Rotary announcements

PLATTSBURGH — The Plattsburgh Sunrise Rotary Club has unveiled the appointment of its 2014-15 Board of Directors.

They are: president, Cheryl A. Lesser; president elect, Kerry P. Taylor; treasurer, Jessica Sears; past president, Tom LaBombard; 2nd vice president, Joanne V. Knowlton; secretary, Yvonne Alterie, sergeant at arms/e-secretary, Jack Brown; and members at large, James Snook and Doug Kashorek.

The group also recently acknowledged individuals for their service to the club and the community. Last month, LaBombard recognized Bruce Grindle as the Rotarian of the Year for his years of service to Sunrise Rotary and Rotary International.

“For years, Bruce Grindle has been responsible for the club’s weekly bulletin, keeping members informed about the on goings of the club and coordinating with the different committees to ensure that their information was made available to the entire club,” LaBombard said. “During the annual Mayor’s Cup event, his boat was always in service on the lake, providing timekeeping, judging and other activities to keep the race events running smoothly. He has been present at virtually all of the club’s fundraising events, contributing heavily to making things run smoothly.”
