Back pack program

TICONDEROGA — The Ticonderoga Office of Glens Falls National Bank and Trust Co. raised money for the local Kiwanis Club’s BackPack Program during a Summer Picnic Community Appreciation Day on June 20.

Various fundraisers generated $180 for the nonprofit, which provides backpacks filled with nutritious foods for children to bring home on weekends. The Community Appreciation Day also included food, giveaways and activities for kids.

Glens Falls National provides banking, investment, insurance and other financial services through 30 locations. It hosts community events throughout the year as a way to show appreciation for its customers and neighbors and to assist local causes.

New position

LAKE PLACID — A new Tri-Lakes regional manager position to better serve the Lake Placid community and the entire Tri-Lakes region has been created, according to Joseph P. Shaw, president and CEO of Champlain National Bank.

This position coincides with the new branch being built at 2040 Saranac Ave. Kevin Brady, a native of Saranac Lake, has been selected to fill this position. Brady joins the bank with more than 20 years of experience in finance, spanning both the asset-management and brokerage industry with senior roles in portfolio management, trading and sales in both Boston and New York City.

Brady attended Pennsylvania State University where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in International Business and German. He is excited to return to the Adirondacks with his wife and three young children. He is an avid skier and is a board member for the New York State Ski Educational Foundation.

“Hiring Kevin to fill this new position we created specifically for our new Lake Placid branch shows our commitment to the Tri-Lakes area,” Shaw said. “We know that the community wants a local choice to do their banking, and having another person on the ground in the area will help serve our clients more quickly and with a higher level of service.”
