Town of Franklin gets $200,000 for housing rehab

ROAD REPAIR: Councilor Al Berg inquired about repairs over the next two years to Franklin Falls Road.

DeMars restated that his intentions were to make repairs and, if they withstood weather conditions, that the entire road would be completed. A final decision on that had not been made.

SUMMER LUNCHES: Willman has been working to secure hot lunches for the summer program through the county and other avenues.

CEMETERY CONCERNS: Councilor Don Hamm reported that swampy areas in Union Cemetery need to be addressed.

Willman suggested the groundskeeper, Glenn Swinyer, be contacted to correct the problem.

Hamm also reported that a grave in Merrillsville Cemetery had caved in and would be corrected.

The next Town Council meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 9, at the Town Hall, Route 3, Vermontville.

The meetings are open to the public.
