Community Calendar: March 29, 2013

The Press-Republican events calendar appears every Friday. Be sure submissions reach the Press-Republican newsroom at least one week before the calendar in which they need to appear. 

Items should be brief, listing the time, date, place, prices, a contact number and any other essential information.

All items in the calendar must be open to the public.

Family Swim Night. 7 to 9 p.m. The Wellness Center at PARC, New York Road, Plattsburgh. $2 per person. Opportunity for a swim in a heated indoor pool to exercise or just float around. Sponsored by Town of Plattsburgh Parks & Recreation Dept.


CVPH Annual Easter Egg Hunt. 10 a.m. sharp on the front lawn of CVPH Medical Center, Plattsburgh. (The event is over quickly.) Open to children in second grade and younger, with a separate hunting ground available for kids age 3 and younger. Park in Medical Office Building lot near the Cornelia Street entrance. Easter Bunny will be available for photos and hugs before and after the event. Weather- and lawn-appropriate clothing advised; kids should bring a basket for eggs.

Full-Moon Snowshoe Hike, Chili Chow Down and Easter. 6 p.m. Adirondack Interpretive Center, 5922 Route 28N, Newcomb. Experience nature at night in the light of the full moon. Meet at the historic Huntington Lodge for chili, $5, followed by an informal hike at 7 p.m. and a campfire with hot chocolate and an Easter egg hunt. Celebrate the Son Egg Hunt and Carnival Fun Day. 10:30 a.m. Turnpike Wesleyan Church, Plattsburgh. Egg hunt, egg coloring, basket decorating, flower planting, donkey petting/zoo rides, face-painting, carnival games, bounce house, food and beverages. Geared toward families with children through sixth grade.
