Plattsburgh City School Board to meet Thursday

PLATTSBURGH — The Plattsburgh City School Board will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Duken Building.

If an executive session is needed, it will take place at 6, with the public session starting at 7:30 p.m.

Agenda items include action on probationary and miscellaneous appointments, other business items and a review of the Public Use of School Facilities Policy.

NCCS Board to discuss super search

CHAMPLAIN — The Northeastern Clinton School Board will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday for a special meeting at the District Office in the Middle School, 103 Route 276, Champlain.

Champlain Educational Services Superintendent Craig King will be present to begin discussion of hiring a superintendent. 

The board plans to vote to enter executive session immediately.

City hydrantsto be flushedon two streets

PLATTSBURGH — The City of Plattsburgh Fire Department will be flushing hydrants today on Margaret Street and Beach Road.

Water in the system will be stirred up and may be cloudy or rust colored coming out of the faucet during the flushing. Residents are urged to avoid washing clothes or bathing during that time.

BOCES organizational meeting planned

SARANAC LAKE — The organizational meeting of the Board of Cooperative Educational Services of the Sole Supervisory District of Franklin, Essex and Hamilton counties (BOCES) is scheduled for Thursday, July 18, at 7 p.m. at the Adirondack Educational Center, 711 Route 3, Saranac Lake.

Moriah Central sets special session

MORIAH — The Moriah Central School Board will hold a special meeting at 6 p.m. Wednesday, July 24, in the High School library.

The board will interview candidates for the Spanish position.

The session is open to the public.   

Port Henry Farmers Market open July 24

PORT HENRY — Champlain Area Trails will have information available about its public trails at the Port Henry Farmers Market on Wednesday, July 24, including a map of its network, showing the Cheney Mountain Trail in the Town of Moriah. 

Also, the senior coupons for the Farmers Market will be handed out that day. The market, open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., is set up in the parking lot by The Bistro on Main Street in Port Henry.
