Students: Nov. 7, 2013

Area students who earned degrees from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute include Steven Burpoe of Saranac Lake, bachelor’s degree in business and management; Arthur Ford of Plattsburgh, bachelor’s degree in business and management; Sydney Halperin of Lake Clear, bachelor’s degree in biology and a master’s in biology; Michael Higgins of Peru, bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering; Gabriel Jaquish of Moriah, bachelor’s degree in computer and systems engineering; Kyle Maggy of Plattsburgh, bachelor’s degree in business and management; Veronique Parker of Saranac Lake, bachelor’s degree in aeronautical engineering; Brennan Thierry of Moriah Center, bachelor’s degree in computer and systems engineering; and Christopher Witkowski of Plattsburgh, bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.

Andrew Pond of Rainbow Lake and Emily Gadbois of Plattsburgh earned degrees from SUNY College of Technology at Delhi. Pond was awarded an associate’s degree in applied science in recreation and sports management, and Gadbois earned an associate’s degree in applied science in construction technology.

More than 150 students at SUNY Oswego took part in internships this past summer through the Experience-Based Education program, including Ryan C. Farmer of Lake Clear, who interned at Stargate Studios in South Pasadena, Calif., and Jacob T. Kelly of Morrisonville, who spent the summer interning at the Wellness Center at PARC, Plattsburgh. Farmer is a senior in cinema and screen studies. Kelly is a senior in wellness management.

Mallory Anne Favreau, daughter of Bill and Connie Favreau of Plattsburgh, has been named to the spring Dean’s List at LeMoyne College in Syracuse. A member of the Class of 2016, she graduated from Seton Catholic Central School and is majoring in history. She is a member of the women’s golf team at LeMoyne.

Attending Saint Micheal’s College in their freshman year are local students Bryanna Evoy, daughter of Bradley and Julie Evoy of Morrisonville; Molly Roush, daughter of Charles and Maureen Roush of Rouses Point; and Erik Ziemer, son of Darcy and Gary Ziemer of Morrisonville.
