Community Calendar: Oct. 18, 2013

Craft Fair and Bake Sale. 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Horace Nye Home, 81 Park St., Elizabethtown. Crafts by Nursing Home residents and community crafters, chili and cornbread lunch, baked goods.

Rummage Sale. 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. United Methodist Church, 127 Beekman St., Plattsburgh. 

Seventh-annual Haunted Trail. 6 to 7 p.m., children’s trail; 7 to 9 p.m. adults. Eggleston Memorial Rec Park, Route 12, Skerry (Town of Brandon). Adults, $5, children 5 through 12, $3. Food and restrooms available. Sponsored by the Bangor Volunteer Fire Department.

Fall Rummage Sale. 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. First Congregational Church, 2 Clay St., Malone. Proceeds benefit local charities. Sponsored by the Women’s Fellowship.

Country Fair. 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Church of the Good Shepherd, 16 Williams St., Elizabethtown. 

PSUC Homecoming Weekend. Various events at multiple sites including tug o’ war over Hawkins Pond, tent party at the Field House, pictures dating back to the early days of the college, Student Association 50th anniversary, Hall of Fame Inductions, Welcome Back Social at Monopole. Book Signing. 7 p.m. Peru Free Library, 3024 Main St. Fantasy writer Matthew D. Ryan will sign his book, “Drasmyr,” the prequel to his series, “From the Ashes of Ruin.”

Celebration of LGBT Arts. 7 p.m. ROTA Gallery, 50 Margaret St., Plattsburgh. A one-night art show, drumming, poetry reading, story from the First Nation people. Bring in a painting or a poem. In honor of National Coming Out Month.
