Agenda planned for Common Council meeting
PLATTSBURGH — The City of Plattsburgh Common Council will take action on several items at tonight’s meeting.
Among them are a request from the city engineer to advertise for bids for improvements to Boynton Avenue, North Catherine Street and Lozier Place; and a request that a contract for laboratory services for the Water Pollution Control Plant be extended for one year to Adirondack Environmental Services for the total amount of $100,300.
The meeting begins with a work session at 5 p.m., followed by the regular meeting at 5:30 p.m.
Both meetings are open to the public.
Moriah Clerk’s Office to close early Friday
MORIAH — The Town of Moriah Town Clerk/Tax Collector’s office will be close at 2 p.m. this Friday.
Regular business hours, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays, will resume on Monday, March 4.
Champlain Village Board changes meeting date
CHAMPLAIN — The regular monthly Champlain Village Board scheduled for Monday, March 11, has been rescheduled to 6:30 p.m. Monday, March 4.
The session will be held at the Village Office, 1104 Route 9, and is open to the public.
Champlain Village session moved to new location
CHAMPLAIN — The venue has changed for the next Village of Champlain meeting on dissolution, set for 6:30 p.m. Thursday, March 7.
To accommodate larger attendance, the session has been moved to the Knights of Columbus Hall, 3 Oak St., in the Village of Champlain.
At the meeting, which will continue a review of how dissolution would progress, Wade Beltramo from the New York Conference of Mayors answer questions on the topic.
Villagers will vote March 19 on whether to dissolve the municipality. A yes vote would require the village to do a study and plan on dissolution, then, unless a petition forces another public referendum, the Town of Champlain would absorb village government.
