---- — PLATTSBURGH — Kim Mason can hear her sister screaming on one of Peter Frampton’s records.

“He did part of his Live album here,” she posted on the Press-Republican Facebook page.

Bring Frampton back, she suggested.

Facebook friend Todd Munsell is on board with that.

With the prospect of the Crete Memorial Civic Center’s rebirth for music events, readers quickly piled up posts responding to a Press-Republican Facebook question asking what entertainment they remember from the facility’s heyday and who they’d like to see perform now.

Here are some of their responses:

CRETE MEMORIES

Julie Churco: “I saw Beatlemania there 1,000 years ago.”

Khristina Heffernan: “i remember seeing the shriners circus a long time ago.”

Sheryl Alexander: “first concert i ever went to, Johnny Cash.”

Evan Cross: “Harlem Globe Trotters.”

Stephanie Olin: “I remember seeing the Harlem Globetrotters there! It’s about time the community gets some more excitement! Too bad I don’t live up there anymore!”

Sarah Burleigh: “New kids on the block :))))”

‘LET’S GET SOME FUN’

Kevin Lee Lareau: “I remember seein tammy wynette when I was a kid. and back to back wwe shows in the 90s. to. bad we couldnt get them again. I know they have a HUGE fan base up here.”

Lea Mitchell: “I saw Johnny Cash in the 70s! Blake Shelton, Jason Aldean, or Rascal Flats is something would be great!!!”

Klaus Baumgarten: “There was a rumor going around last year that megadeth was going to play there. Big name acts of all genres could easily be accommodated at the Crete. Let’s get some fun here in Plattsburgh again!”

Keith Ford: “Classic rock shows. Classic country acts seem to always popular here. Bluegrass festivals?”

Brenden LaPier: “Probably should call it quits before they lose all their money.. Pburgh is a dead zone.”

Sara Sanders: “Plattsburgh is far from a dead zone!! So much potential here!!”

Eric Hess: “A reunion of the first major concert held there... Rush, Foghat, Blue Oyster Cult...”

Melanie Spofford-Uihlein: “I would absolutely love to see Boyce Avenue come here!”

Keith Ford: “Take a look at the Hampton Beach Casino and see the quality acts they have for the whole summer.”

Kris Watson: “Anything in the Electronic Music genre’s.”

Marita Rumph: “I remember when they had a Grand Old Opry type show with several of the old time country and western singers. Place was sold out. I just don’t see how the Crete is large enough to accommodate large ticket sales to pay for big name entertainers.”
