PLATTSBURGH — Lakeshore Road in Champlain near the state boat launch is still closed, with waters swirling over it from the Great Chazy River.
According to Clinton County Office of Emergency Services, some roads have been closed down, reopened and even closed again as water levels of Lake Champlain, rivers and streams have reacted to wind and rain.
Other closings Wednesday are, in Champlain, Point au Fer and Scales roads, along with Stony Point Road just south of the Village of Rouses Point.
Also since April 28, travel has been forbidden on Lake Street in Port Kent between North Street and Blueberry Drive.
In Beekmantown, closures include Camp Red Cloud/Point au Roche Road, and only local traffic is permitted on Dickson Point Road from the boat launch north.
In Chazy, part of Eagle Acres Road is shut down. There's restricted access to Corlear Bay Road in the Town of Chesterfield.
Bowen Road in Saranac was shut off to traffic today. And the Town of Black Brook closed River Road.
Travelers are advised to use caution on any road with water on it. States of emergencies remain in place in many areas due to the flooding.
