Host families sought for exchange students

PERU — The CCI-Greenheart Cultural Exchange Program is is looking for host families for the 2013-14 school year.

Students would be arriving from mid to late August, in advance of the school year starting in September.

“Be a part of a rewarding experience for both your family and the exchange student,” local organizer Scarlett McBride of Peru said in a news release.

NCCS to work on superintendent search

CHAMPLAIN — The Northeastern Clinton Central School Board has scheduled two upcoming meetings.

The board will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 6, in the Middle/Senior High Library. Items on the agenda include the tax levy, personnel and substitute appointments.

The board will also meet at 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 8, in the library to develop a brochure for the superintendent search and discuss the advertising timeline.

All board meetings are open to the public.


ELCS School Board meeting scheduled

ELIZABETHTOWN — The Elizabethtown-Lewis Central School Board will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 8, in the conference room.

The board is expected to go into executive session at 6 p.m. to discuss collective negotiations and advice of counsel.

Members are expected to reconvene in public session at 7 p.m. to hold a public hearing on the proposed Code of Conduct, recognize student and staff achievements, make appointments, discuss the calendar of public reports for 2013-14 and handle other matters.

The meeting is open to all.
