Constable man charged with rape of 14-year-old

CONSTABLE — A Constable man was arrested on rape charges Sunday.

Christopher L. Joiner, 20, was taken into custody following an investigation by Malone-based State Police of the reported rape of a 14-year-old girl. 

He was charged with three counts of second-degree rape, a felony, and three counts of endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor.

“An order of protection was also issued for the victim,” State Police Troop B Bureau of Criminal Investigation Capt. Robert LaFountain said Monday.

Joiner was arraigned in Constable Town Court before Town Justice Diane Wisneskey. He was committed to Franklin County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 secured bond on the recommendation of the Franklin County District Attorney’s Office. 

Joiner is scheduled to return to Constable Court at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9.
