B'town School Board to meet Thursday

BEEKMANTOWN — The Beekmantown Central School Board will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday in the superintendent's office. Agenda items include voting on five vacant Champlain Valley Education Services seats and the tentative CVES administrative budget.

NCCS to present district budget

CHAMPLAIN — The Northeastern Clinton Central School Board will hold a special meeting at 6:30 a.m. Thursday in the District Office to vote on the Champlain Valley Education Services budget and board members.

A regular board meeting is set for 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 1, at Mooers Elementary School. It will begin with presentation of the proposed 2012-13 budget; the regular session will follow.

Agenda items include: tenure appointments, policies and the food-service contract.

The public is invited.

PSU College Council agenda set

PLATTSBURGH — The SUNY Plattsburgh College Council will meet at 1 p.m. Thursday in the Alumni Conference Room, Angell College Center.

During the meeting, there will be a few minutes of silence in honor of longtime member Roger Burke, who died earlier this month.

The council will discuss a new use-of-facilities policy for third parties wanting to speak on campus.

They will also consider resolutions honoring the men's hockey team for winning its 21st State University of New York Athletic Conference championship and Cardinal Points for receiving first place in General Excellence in the Collegiate Division of the New York Press Association 2011 Better Newspaper Contest.

In addition, there will be a focus group session as part of the strategic and academic planning process.

The council will hear reports on academic, business and student affairs, as well as on facilities, institutional advancement and community and government relations.

The meeting is open to the public.
