PLATTSBURGH — Plattsburgh City School Board will meet at 7 a.m. Monday, July 1, at the Duken Building.

It will start with a reorganizational meeting involving the election of officers and annual appointments.

The board will then hold its regular meeting and act on personnel and business items.

Beekmantown offices to close July 4, 5

BEEKMANTOWN — Beekmantown Town Hall offices will be closed Thursday, July 4, and Friday, July 5, for the holiday.

Altona offices to close for the holiday

ALTONA — Town of Altona Offices will be closed on Thursday, July 4, and Friday July 5, in observance of Independence Day.

LPCS Board to hold organizational session

LAKE PLACID — The Lake Placid Central School Board will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 2, in the Board of Education Conference Room, Administrative Services Center, 50 Cummings Road.

The board will organize for the new school year at the session.

Meetings are open to the public.

Dannemora firefighters to train with hydrants

DANNEMORA — The Dannemora Village Fire Department will be using the fire hydrants for training on the evening of Monday, July 1.

Residents may have cloudy water that evening.

Plattsburgh City Council to meet Tuesday

PLATTSBURGH — The City of Plattsburgh Common Council will meet on Tuesday, July 2, instead of Thursday, July 4, due to the holiday.

A work session takes place at 5 p.m. followed by the regular meeting at 5:30 p.m.

SLCS Board to organize for 2013-14

SARANAC LAKE — The Saranac Central School Board will meet from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 2, in Petrova Library.

Agenda items include organizational matters such as election of board officers, setting board meeting dates and the oath of office to board officers.

Meetings are open to the public.

Dannemora Clerk’s Office to close for holiday

DANNEMORA —The Dannemora Town Clerk/Tax Collector’s Office will close at noon Wednesday, July 3, and reopen for normal hours the following Tuesday at 8 a.m.

Mooers Republican Party seeks candidates

MOOERS — The Town of Mooers Republican Committee is soliciting candidates to run for seats up in this fall’s election.

The positions are: town supervisor, highway superintendent, town clerk/tax collector, two Town Council seats and town justice.

Interested candidates are invited to attend the committee meeting set for 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 10, at the Mooers Town Office Complex on Route 11.

Westport town/fire joint facility being discussed

WESTPORT — The Westport Town Council and the Westport Board of Fire Commissioners will hold a joint special meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 10, to discuss a joint garage project. 

The meeting will be held in the Town Hall and is open to all.
