Facebook fans share rainy day ideas

PLATTSBURGH — The rain doesn’t have to ruin your day.

The North Country has seen more than its share of wet weather this June. It would be easy to let the daily downpours dampen spirits.

We asked Press-Republican Facebook readers to suggest indoor activities for a rainy day, and they provided plenty.

Here’s a sampling:

Megan Simpson: “Go out & run through the puddles!!! Or just sit in them. LoL Gonna have to learn how to have fun in the rain.... looks like the pattern for summer!”

Rock Pam: “Clean house..that is what i am doing...then when the weather straightens up, I can spend it outside.”

Bonnie Shatraw Wingler: “Reading....organizing.”

Chad and Jessica Hicks: “If you have kids, then arts and crafts are great for a rainy day.”

Khris Heffernan: “Volunteering at the hospital or other organizations.”

Renee Stiles: “Bake!”

Plattsburgh YMCA: “Come check out the YMCA! There is plenty of recreational swim time, along with fitness classes, and numerous summer camps for the kids!!!”

Theresa Goheens: “Cleaning, entertaining a 2.5-year-old and a 6-month-old. Cooking, grumbling and probably going to play in the puddles...”

Daniel Cogan: “Turn ice-cream truck into a umbrella and galoshes truck!!!”

Homer Champagne: “Wax your snow shovels...”

Kent-Delord House Museum: “Visit a museum!”

Samantha Blake Puchrik: “My kids are currently bowling with old water bottles and one of those plastic balls from the bin at Walmart.”

Amanda Trow-Racine: “Super soakers and bubbles outside... It’s already wet!!!”

Fred V Provoncha: “If you are in the area, drop by the Ticonderoga Heritage Museum (1888 building), no charge, and we are always happy to talk Ticonderoga history!”

Katie Cantwell: “Board games! Arts and crafts, make a tent inside and pretend to camp. Movie day! Bake, make cool snacks...”

Sarah Miller: “Mon & Tues at 10 a.m. Regal Cinemas in the mall have $1 movies...2 to choose from each week until Sept!!!”

Lumber Jills: “We wanna’ skate!”

Lora Peryer: “Grilling in the garage! Movies.”
