PLATTSBURGH — Offices at Clinton Community College will be closed Thursday for Professional Development Day activities.

Credit classes will not be in session.

Courses through the Center for Community and Workforce Development will be held as previously scheduled.

The campus will also be closed on Friday.

Three Moriah Central School Boardseats up for grabs

MORIAH — Moriah Central School is seeking candidates to fill three seats on the nine-member School Board. 

The positions are all three-year terms. 

Petition forms are available at the Business Office and must be returned no later than 5 p.m. April 22. 

The election and district vote will take place from 1 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 21, in the main lobby of the school.

Meeting scheduled for Ti Co-op idea

TICONDEROGA — A meeting of the Ticonderoga Food Co-op initiative is set for 6 p.m. Monday, April 8, at the Downtown Gallery in Ticonderoga. 

Individuals interested in knowing more about food cooperatives and willing to be a part of the conversation on the feasibility of establishing a food co-op in Ticonderoga are encouraged to attend. 

Those who are unable to attend but would like to be put on the email communications list for updates are asked to contact PRIDE at 585-6366, Ext. 103, or email: sreynolds@prideofticonderoga.org.

The Downtown Gallery is located at 119 Montcalm St. in Ticonderoga.

Village of Champlain sets organizational session Monday

CHAMPLAIN — The Champlain Village Board will hold its annual organizational meeting at 6:30 p.m. Monday, April 1, at the Village Office, 1104 Route 9 (Main St.) in Champlain.

The regular monthy meeting will follow. Both are open to the public.

Good Friday hours, closures set

HARRIETSTOWN — The Harrietstown Town Offices will close at noon Friday in observation of Good Friday. 

Also, the Saranac Lake Satellite location of the Franklin County Motor Vehicle Office will be closed all that day. 

The Motor Vehicle Office in Malone will be open normal hours on Friday, however, from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Rouses Point takes part in tree program

ROUSES POINT —The New York Power Authority and the New York State Nursery and Landscape Association have invited the Village of Rouses Point to participate in the 2013 Tree Power Program again this year.

The special tree offer lets you “buy one, get one free or at reduced cost.” 

Many tree selections are being matched by the Power Authority for free. Again, this year, more options for larger trees are available, which the authority will match at a reduced cost. As in the past, the Village Board has invited the residents to participate in the program. 

The costs of trees are $85 for 1.5-inch caliper (diameter) or 4/5 foot tall and $170 for the 2.5-inch caliper or 8-to-10 foot high.

The tree purchase deadline is April 15. For more information, call the Village Office at 297-5502.

Port Henry Village Board to review budget at meeting

PORT HENRY — The Port Henry Village Board will hold a special meeting and budget session at 6:45 p.m.Wednesday, April 3, at the Village Hall, located at 4303 Main St. 

At the session, the board will review the tentative budget for fiscal year June 1, 2013, to May 31, 2014.

All board meetings are open to the public.
