City of Plattsburgh to test snow-ban-parking lights
PLATTSBURGH — The City of Plattsburgh will test its snow-ban-parking emergency lights today and reminds motorists to find off-road parking areas for the winter months.
When the orange snow-ban-parking lights are on, vehicles cannot be parked along city streets. Vehicles in violation will be towed, a press release said.
“If you get in the habit of always parking off the road from November 1 until March 31, you will save yourself money and aggravation,” Public Works Superintendent Arsene M. Brodi said.

Toll-free calls provided to Philippines through Dec. 31
PLATTSBURGH — All calls by current Champlain Telephone and PrimeLink long-distance customers made to the Philippines are toll-free through Dec. 31.
An increase in calls since the catastrophic Nov. 8 typhoon in the Philippines prompted the move, according to a press release.
“The management of Champlain Telephone and PrimeLink realizes that the customers they serve have family, friends and colleagues in the Philippines,” it said. “With the holiday season approaching, it is more important than ever for people in our area to be able to connect with loved ones living and/or working in the Philippines.”
