No city refuse collection today

PLATTSBURGH — Because of the Columbus Day holiday, there will be no garbage collections by the City of Plattsburgh Department of Public Works today.

Instead, today’s garbage collections within the City of Plattsburgh will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 9. 

All of the department’s garbage collections for the rest of the week will take place on their regularly scheduled days. 

Saranac Lake School Board to meet Tuesday

SARANAC LAKE — The Saranac Lake Central School Board will hold a special meeting 8 a.m. Tuesday in room 009 of the High School. 

Agenda items include discussion of the district’s superintendent search, as well as the appointment of clerk pro-tem. 

No public business will be addressed. The meeting is open to the public. 

Willsboro School Board to meet Tuesday

WILLSBORO — The Willsboro Central School Board will hold its regular meeting 6 p.m. Tuesday in the conference room at the school. 

Agenda items include a presentation by Cafeteria Manager Jane Casamento and approval of personnel.

The meeting is open to the public. 

Peru School Board to meet Tuesday

PERU — The Peru Central School Board will meet 6 p.m. Tuesday in the community room, adjacent to the main high-school entrance. 

An executive session associated with particular personnel matters will take place immediately following the start of the meeting. 

The School Board is expected to reconvene for public session at about 7 p.m.

It’s anticipated the board will authorize the sale of surplus items, authorize that a proposition be brought before voters to purchase three regular school buses, authorize Clinton County to use the campus for mass-care sheltering and disaster relief and authorize the district to enter into an agreement with the Town of Peru for a shared refuel point. 

The meeting is open to the public.
