PLATTSBURGH — Today’s whopper snowstorm has given students a snow day and called off meetings.

Schools in Clinton, Essex and Franklin counties are closed, which means tonight's sports events are canceled.

Clinton Community College has called off classes.

In a rare move, all of Plattsburgh State’s main campus classes scheduled for 10 a.m. and later today have been canceled. Classes at SUNY Adirondack and Hudson Valley Community College are canceled as well. While classes have been canceled, the main campus remains open. SUNY Plattsburgh Child Care Center will close at noon.

For information on class cancellation at Plattsburgh’s main campus, call the college’s main weather and emergency line at 518-564-SNOW (7669).

The City of Plattsburgh parking ban is on from midnight tonight to 6 a.m. Thursday. The parking ban also includes the north end of the City Parking Lot on Durkee Street.

CVPH OPEN

All CVPH Medical Center programs and services are open. The blood donor crew is holding an unscheduled drive on the third floor of the Miner Medical Arts Building on the Cornelia Street side of campus. People can donate there or at the Blood Donor Center, which is open today until 6 p.m. in the CVPH Health Plaza across from Hannaford’s.
