Clinton County Legislatureto meet Wednesday
PLATTSBURGH — A regular session of the Clinton County Legislature will be held on Wednesday, March 27, in the Legislative Chambers, 137 Margaret St., Plattsburgh, at 7 p.m.
Included on the agenda are concurring with Clinton Community College Board of Trustees’ Recommendation to approve the Memorandum of Agreement by and between Clinton Community College and the Clinton Community College Faculty Association.
Also, approving an appointment to the Clinton County Veterans’ Advisory Committee and authorizing non-aviation facility sublease renewal with Northern New York Driving Academy.
Scholarship applications available at Franklin Academy
MALONE — The Academic Board of Trustees at Franklin Academy is accepting applications for two post-graduate scholarships.
Scholarships include the Alfred A. Hartmann Sr. Medical Scholarship to a medical student residing in Franklin County, established by will of M. Erma Scanlon. The scholarship honors the contributions and memory of Hartmann, who served the community as a physician from the 1940s until his death in 2000.
The second scholarship awarded will be the Hon. Robert G. Main Sr. and Hon. Robert G. Main Jr. Legal Scholarship, created in 2002 by Ann Manson Main, in honor of her son and her late husband.
Main Sr., who died in 1998, served as a member of the State Assembly and for 28 years as a justice of the Supreme Court at the trial level and as an associate judge of the Appellate Division, Third Department.
Main Jr. serves as a judge in Franklin County. The scholarship is for any law-school student who is a resident of the Fourth Judicial District, with primary consideration given to residents of Franklin County.
Applications may be in a letter or resume form and should provide information concerning academic performance at the undergraduate and graduate levels, the applicant’s basis for seeking an award, plans and aspirations upon graduation.
