Winter Carnival finale a snowy success


Another 22-year-old man was arrested for disorderly conduct, but he was released after posting $100 bail.

Nason said the Village Police Department institutes Driving While Intoxicated checkpoints at major events.

“And we let people know we are doing it. We want people to be safe.”


Otherwise, the 116th Saranac Lake Winter Carnival wrapped up Sunday with two perfect winter days for the parade and finale celebration events.

On Wednesday, the Carnival Committee will hold its recap meeting, and in about a month, will start planning next year’s event.

The final event of the 10-day celebration will be held this Thursday. At 2 and 7:30 p.m., the public can attend the Post-Carnival Cape Air Slide Show, to be held at Saranac Village at Will Rogers.
