Burdo was charged with second-degree rape, as he is 18 or older and the victim is younger than 15.

The crime happened on Jan. 26 in the Town of Altona, Hite said.

Burdo was arraigned in Altona Town Court before Judge Eli Lambert and sent to Clinton County Jail in lieu of $15,000 cash bail or $30,000 bail bond, Hite said.

Burdo remained in County Jail Friday.

He is due to reappear in court at 7 p.m. Feb. 19.
