---- — Bank to close branch located in Price Chopper

DEWITT — Community Bank System Inc. will be closing its Plattsburgh Price Chopper branch and relocating it into the branch located at 524 State Route 3, effective April 5.

Customers won’t need to do anything as it relates to the transition, as all accounts will automatically be transferred to the new location, the bank said in a news release.

There will be no layoffs associated with the relocation.

“We looked at the proximity of our five branches in Plattsburgh and decided this was the best move for both our customers and employees,” Hal Wentworth, senior vice president of retail banking, said in a news release.

“Customers will continue to receive the same level of service from the remaining branches as all staff will be relocated to those locations. Community Bank will continue to have a total of four other branches in the Plattsburgh area that will all be happy to serve the needs of our transitioning customers.”

The other branches are located at 524 State Route 3, 9 Margaret St., Wal-Mart at 25 Consumer Square and 468 State Route 3.

Customers who have questions may speak with the staff at any Community Bank location or call 1-800-388-4679.
