Vt. sex offender found illegally in Plattsburgh

PLATTSBURGH — A sex offender registered in Vermont is accused of illegally living in New York state.

Hagen D. Dominie, 18, had been living on Sandalwood Way in the City of Plattsburgh illegally, said Lt. Scott Beebie of the Plattsburgh City Police.

On Feb. 12, City Police received a complaint that Dominie was living in the city without reporting his whereabouts, as required by law.

Police investigation showed that Dominie did not have permission to live in New York, Beebie said.

Dominie was arrested Feb. 19 and charged with violating the required sex-offender registry, a felony. He was arraigned in Plattsburgh City Court.

In March 2010, Dominie was convicted in New York state of first-degree criminal sex act, a felony. The charge implies the victim is younger than 11.

The Vermont Sex Offender Registry describes his crime as “course of sexual conduct against a child.”

His registered address is Isle La Motte, Vt.

Dominie remained incarcerated in Clinton County Jail Friday in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bail bond, according to the Clinton County Sheriff’s Department.

He is due for an appearance in Plattsburgh City Court on March 13.
