---- — Churubusco wind meeting location changed to fire hall

CHURUBUSCO — Because of another meeting at the Churubusco Town Hall on Wednesday, Nov. 7, the Wind Planning Board will meet at the Churubusco Fire Station.

The meeting will start at 7 p.m. and is open to all.

ROUSES POINT — The Village of Rouses Point will continue to pickup the bagged leaves until Nov. 16.

Salvation Army, 

Elks plan annual Thanksgiving meal

PLATTSBURGH — The annual free Thanksgiving meal will once again be hosted by the Plattsburgh Corps of the Salvation Army and the Plattsburgh Elks Lodge.

The meal will be held at the Elks Lodge at 56 Cumberland Ave., Plattsburgh at noon on Thanksgiving Day. Seating will begin at 11:30 a.m.

At least 400 meals are expected to be served. The meal is free, and all are welcome. Takeouts are not available.

People who are interested in volunteering or making a donation for the meal are asked to contact the Salvation Army at 561-2951 from 9:15 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Transportation will be provided between the Salvation Army building at 4804 South Catherine St. and the Elks Lodge, with stops at the Plattsburgh Housing Authority senior-citizen high rises along the way. The van will arrive between 11:15 and 11:30 a.m. for the first trip. and will make two round trips.

Again this year, the Lake Champlain Turkey Talkers, a group affiliated with the National Wild Turkey Federation, is donating turkeys and hams for the Thanksgiving meal.

Annual ORDA Job Fair set for Nov. 14

LAKE PLACID — The New York State Olympic Regional Development Authority and Centerplate Food Service will host a job fair at the Whiteface Mountain Base Lodge from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14.

Both full-time and part-time positions are available for the upcoming 2012-13 winter season at ORDA’s Olympic venues.

The Olympic venues include Whiteface Mountain, the Olympic Center, the Olympic Sports Complex, the Olympic Jumping Complex and the ORDA Store. Applicants should bring a resume and be ready for interviews to take place at the Job Fair.
