Hydrant flushing continues in Plattsburgh

PLATTSBURGH — The Plattsburgh City Fire Department will continue flushing hydrants today.

The streets affected, sometime between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m., will be Underwood Avenue; South Catherine Street; Bushey Boulevard; Monty Street; Johnson Avenue; Elizabeth, Grant, South Platt, Hartwell, Waterhouse, Allen, St. John streets; Leblanc Lane and Riverside Avenue.

Water in the system will be stirred up and may be cloudy or rust colored coming out of the faucet during the flushing. Residents are urged to avoid washing clothes or bathing during that time.

City School Board to meet Wednesday

PLATTSBURGH — The Plattsburgh City School Board will meet Wednesday, June 19, at the Duken Building.

An executive session will be held at 6 p.m. The board will reconvene in public session at 7:30 p.m., at which time members will discuss a shared-services contract with Beekmantown Central School, the trash and recyclables bid and other personnel and business issues.

AVCS School Board meeting planned

CLINTONVILLE — AuSable Valley Central School Board will hold a reorganizational meeting at 6 p.m. Monday, July 1, at the Middle School-High School auditorium in Clintonville.

The board will consider special-education recommendations, school-lunch prices, the public-library contract, Senior Citizen Club mileage, services for preschool students, board policies, an agreement with Four Winds, participation in BOCES summer school and personnel issues.

The meeting is open to all.
