Some roads closed due to flooding

SARANAC — Stretches of two roads here are closed due to flooding.

River Road is shut down this morning from the Saranac town line to Cold Brook Road this morning.

Also in Saranac, the Bowen Road is closed between house numbers 61 and 184.

In Beekmantown, Town Line Road was blocked off just after 10 a.m. from the intersection of Military Turnpike to the Golden Road.

At about 10:10 a.m., Chazy Volunteer Fire Department was called out for a flooded basement at 9079 Route 22, where rising water was threatening the electrical system.

Warm temperatures — forecast for near 80 degrees today — have prompted a National Weather Service flood watch through Wednesday that includes Clinton, Essex and Franklin counties.

As of 10:15 a.m., no flooding issues had arisen in Essex and Franklin counties.

More details will be added to this report later today.
